DCA to Springfield, VA. $32. Seems on par with what you’d pay for a cab, but I suppose it’s a somewhat easier service to use. Moral of the story: I’m just gonna keep renting cars when I travel.

I like the lyft interface a little better and they offer $3 off 5 x rides to start you off. Nice for short trips but yeah once you get into the nearly the cost of a cheap rental hard to not just get a car. I’m in a rental 4 cylinder turbo Camaro right now enjoying it quite a bit.

It really depends on where you need to go and what the parking situation is like. I know for me in los angeles, if my girlfriend and I are going somewhere like West Hollywood for dinner, I will happily agree to taking an Uber instead of bothering to drive. Traffic to get there is horrendous, parking is like $20 for a few hours, and you have to draw straws for who doesnt get to have any drinks. But for a $20 round trip uber ride instead? That is superb and makes life quite easy. Plus I dont have to call a cab company and talk to a driver, I just go to the app, get in the car, and get to my destination. Sure, some of their driving leaves something to be desired but cars are safe enough nowadays that I am not so concerned about being murdered at least..

Used Uber for my trip to Minneapolis this week. 4 trips overall, probably about the same cost as a one day car rental. Why did I use Uber then? Each time I got in a car it was already warmed up. Nontrivial when it is 0.

I m not there anymore...
I took a 5:30am flight into D.C., had a 5 hour long job interview/building tour, and flew back home last night.
Oh the miracles of modern transportation.

It touched 0 degrees here in Illinois a few times last week, so I see your point
